❦ Short Description (চুটি বিৱৰণ) = With a view to support, strengthen and improve the quality of Elementary Education in the State of Assam in compliance with the Right to Education Act, 2009 and in pursuance of Govt. approval vide No. 383723, dated-26/12/2023, online applications are hereby invited through the official website of DEE, Assam, i.e. https://dee.assam.gov.in from eligible Indian Citizens as defined in Article 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and permanent residents of Assam, who are qualified in Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET)/ Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for UP Schools, for filling up of 1750 (One Thousand Seven Hundred and fifty) vacancies of Assistant Teacher, Science Teacher and Hindi Teacher of UP Schools under the Directorate of Elementary Education, Assam in the Pay Band – 2 (PB-2) @ Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 70,000/- plus Grade Pay and other allowances as admissible as per “The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019”.
The district-wise, medium-wise and category-wise break-up of vacancies showing the reservation for OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/PwD/Women/Ex-Servicemen etc. will be notified in due course of time, subject to approval of the Post-Based Roster from the WPT & BC Department, Personnel Department, Department of Tribal Affairs (Plain) and subject to approval of the vacant posts from Finance (SIU) Department. The vacancies may vary due to administrative reasons. The Director of Elementary Education, Assam reserves the right to make changes in sequences of the recruitment process after publication of the advertisement. The aspiring candidate must be ready to serve in their respective places of posting in terms of choice of their districts.
❦ Name of post: Assistant Teacher (LP) & Assistant Teacher (UP)
❦ No of posts: 5550 posts
▶ Lower Primary: 3800 posts
▶ Upper Primary: 1750 posts
❦ Scale of pay: PB-2 of Rs.14,000 – Rs.70,000 plus Grade Pay and other allowances as admissible under the rules.
✿ Educational Qualification - (শিক্ষাগত অৰ্হতা) = Post-wise educational qualifications for each posts are as mentioned below .
Assistant Teacher (LP)
Qualification: Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
Assistant Teacher (UP)
Qualification: Graduate from the UGC recognized University and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or B. Ed. or D. Ed. (Special Education) or B. Ed. (Special Education).
Science Teacher (UP)
Qualification: B. Sc. from the UGC recognized University and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or B. Ed. or D. Ed. (Special Education) or B. Ed. (Special Education) .
Hindi Teacher (UP)
Qualification: Graduate with Hindi as one of the subjects from the UGC recognized University and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or B. Ed. or D. Ed. (Special Education) or B. Ed. (Special Education).
Other Criteria -
TET Eligibility: The candidates who have passed the ATET/CTET for Upper Primary School will be eligible to apply. Either the Language-I or the Language-II of both ATET and CTET candidates shall match the medium of instruction of the school wherein the candidate wishes to apply.
Nationality: An Indian Citizen and Permanent Resident of Assam is eligible for this recruitment.

❦ Age Limit: The candidate’s age should not be less than 18 years and not more than 40 years as of 1st January 2023.
Age Relaxation: The Category-wise age relaxation for different categories are as mentioned below:
▶ Ex-Servicemen: 2 years
▶ OBC/ MOBC: 3 years
▶ SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years
▶ Persons with Disability (PwD): 10 years
